You have a mind. You have a mindset. You have a belief about yourself that says, “I can have this. I cannot have this.” You have many beliefs that say, “Oh no. Not that. I could never have that. It is too good for me.” You have many beliefs that say, “Oh yes. This is perfect for me. I can definitely have this. It is just what will assist my soul in the growing.” What are these things? Sometimes they are the things that will bring you pleasure in life. Sometimes they are the things that will bring you pain. If you want to change your situation in life, change your beliefs. How do you do that? First of all, change your openness to examining what it is you believe and what it is you do not believe. Are you open? Let us start there.
1. Today we are going to do an exercise of openness. It is an exercise to open your heart to examination of your beliefs. It is an exercise that will take you to a place of neutrality, from which you can accept that you have beliefs, some of which are causing you pain in this lifetim. That is all.
2. For this exercise, we want you to put your earphones on. The things that will block out the noise of the outside. We want you to find earplugs or something to make it so the room is silent, really silent. We want you to hear your breath as it goes in and out. If you cannot or will not find ear plugs, then use your best ability to listen to your breath going in and out. Hear your breath. This is the main focus of this exercise. We want you to hear it on the inside, from inside your head. That is the focus of this exercise.
3. As you hear your breath, what is it that you are thinking? It is time to notice these thoughts. Is it, “I am doing this wrong.” Is it, “This is working out ok.” Is it, “I have much to do today and no time for this.” Is it, “I have enough time for this.” Is it, “I am not patient enough for this exercise.” Is it, “I have the patience for this exercise.” Is it, “I am itching in my nose.” Is it, “I am distracted.” Is it, “This is wonderful.” Is it, “I am ready for this exercise.” Is it, “My breath sounds so peaceful.” Is it, “My breath sounds so shallow.” Is it, “My breath sounds so deep.” Is it, “I am ready for whatever this exercise brings.” Is it, “I don’t believe in this exercise.” What is your mind telling you as you do this exercise. What is the inner voice of your mind doing to you as you listen, listen, listen to your breath. Listen. Listen to your breath and notice how your mind is reacting. This is your mindset.
4. Now. When you have done this for 3 minutes, you can stop. Where are you now? You are in a place of awareness. You are in a place where you have taken the time involved in noticing your mindset. You have taken your mind out of the driver’s seat and given in a subsidiary role, that of servant. Keep your mind there. If ever you notice your mind taking over the driver’s seat again, do this exercise. It only takes 3 minutes. Keep a pair of ear plugs with you at all times so you can effectively do this exercise wherever you are, in the car, in the bathroom, in the office, or where ever 3 minutes can be made available to you. Do this often. Do this every time you feel your mind taking over. Do this today and tomorrow we will examine your beliefs. However, we cannot examine your beliefs while your mind is still in control. You need to be in control. Who are you? The angel. That is so. We love you. We love you. We love you. It is done. It is done. It is done.
Now, go, find your ear plugs and begin. We love you. That is all.
